Onlyfans Sign Up – Step by step

by

OnlyFans is a social media website where creators charge monthly “fans” fees to follow their account. Users access your feed after paying your subscription fee, where they can view your exclusive content. Creators retain 80% of the money their account produces, while the remaining 20% goes to OnlyFans.

OnlyFans is very popular in adult industry because of its open content policy, but it also hosts influential content creators from other genres like physical fitness and modelling.

What you need to know

OnlyFans is a premium social media platform, each profile has the following tabs:

  • Posts – Here you can see all your stuff, images , videos, audio, storeys, live videos, alerts, and more.
  • Photos – Your photos are here
  • Videos – Here’s your video stuff.
  • Audio – Your recordings are kept here
  • Likes – The total number of likes is shown here, fans can also see their content “liked”
  • Fans – Fans themselves are not shown but you can see the number of fans.

Note: OnlyFans needs you to be at least 18 years of age to earn money.

Before you sign up on OnlyFans, you should think about your account name, the type of content you want to publish, how frequently you will post, and your monthly subscription fee.

How to create your OnlyFans account

Go to the OnlyFans site and press “Sign up for OnlyFans.com” or you can sign up using your Twitter account.

Type your email address and create a password, then add the display name that you would like to use. After you filled in all your info, click the checkbox to consent to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy of OnlyFans.

This is how the mobile device signup page appears.

After creating your OnlyFans account, you’ll be sent to the “Edit Profile” page where you can customise your profile.

Setting up your profile on OnlyFans

First, you need to set a username and display name on your account:

  • Username = Appears in your URL and “@.” My username is “modelingNextLevel” for example, so my URL is onlyfans.com/modelingNextLevel and my “@” is “@modelingNextLevel.”
  • Display Name = This is the name that appears on your feed and profile above your username, because it’s not a username you can add spaces and make it look more appealing, so in my case I put “Modeling Next-Level”

Next add a cover picture and a profile photo. The cover picture is a major banner behind your profile image. Upload a cover image relevant to the content you will post on your feed, but bear in mind that you cannot display full nudity in your banner or profile image. Next upload your account profile.

You may notice that the section “Subscription Price ($/Month)” is grey and can not be accessed. That’s because you have to add a bank account to your OnlyFans account and confirm you’re over 18. You can add your personal information by clicking on “add a bank account“.

The “About” section is under “Subscription Fee.” Here’s where you can add a bio for your fans when they come across your profile.

When fans view your profile, the label “Show more info” needs to be clicked for them to see your bio and additional information like website links. After pressing “Show more info” and showing your bio, the tab switches to “Show less” if fans want to hide the bio again.

You can use the bio section to let fans know what they can access when they subscribe. Tell fans what material you share, such as exercise videos, cosplay images, clothing hauls, modelling photosets etc.

Try to be as clear as possible, this will boost your chances of attracting new subscribers as you explain what fans will get for their money.

You should also let fans know how frequently you post, if you post a lot you can add phrases such as “daily uploads” or “fresh content added weekly.” If you’re providing personalised content (workout plans, recipes, photo or video requests, adult content, etc.), add this to your profile.

Under the “About” section:

  • Location= add your location here.
  • Website URL = If you have a website that you want to promote, add the URL here.
  • Amazon Wishlist = Insert URL here if you have an Amazon Wishlist.
  • Spotify Account = Connect your Spotify account here by clicking the “Connect” button.

Don’t forget to save your changes when you are done editing your profile, just click the blue button at the bottom.

How to add a bank account

Submit your personal information

Your personal details need to be submitted for review to start earning money as an OnlyFans creator, once the OnlyFans team has checked and approved your account, you can add your bank account.

To submit your personal information, you can scroll up and press “Add a bank account” under “Subscription Price.” Or you can also add the bank info by clicking the profile icon at the top right corner. This opens a side menu, click on “Add Bank (to earn).”

Add your country of residence on the next page and press the age verification circle to ensure you’re at least 18 years old. When done, press “Next”

Then you will be asked to fill in the following information:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Address
  • City
  • Post/Zip Code
  • Date of birth
  • Twitter account (optional)
  • Instagram account (optional)

Once this is done, you will have to upload a government issued photo ID. Click on the “Document Type” button and select the ID you want to upload.

  • Passport Passport
  • Card ID
  • License driving

Next, you need to upload a photo of the ID itself and hold the ID next to your face.

Make sure the file size isn’t too big when uploading your ID photos. I tried to upload a 7 mb photo and it was “too big,” but when I uploaded a 3 mb photo version and it was accepted, so try to keep the size below 5 mb or 6 mb.

Next, add the expiry date of the ID or click on the “No expiry date” circle if your ID has no expiry date. If you are uploading explicit adult content, tick “Explicit Content” at the bottom.

The “Send for approval” button should now be blue instead of grey, click on it to submit your details. Approval takes about 48 hours.

Add your bank account

Once your account has been approved, you should receive an OnlyFans email confirming your approval and letting you know that you can now add your bank account and set your monthly subscription price.

Log into your OnlyFans account, click the profile icon, and then click “Add Bank,” which will take you to the banking page. Direct Visa Card Transfer is the default payout method.

An Original Credit Transfer (OCT) is a new payment system that is faster and cheaper than bank transfers, allowing you to withdraw $20 and receive it within 3 business days.

Under “Direct Transfer (OCT)” you’ll see “Other payout options” , this will show you the remaining payout options, currently available for Direct Transfer (OCT) and International Bank Transfer (SWIFT).

Instead, if you want to get paid by bank transfer, you can choose this option, but this method only lets you withdraw money after your account has made $200 each time, it can be slightly longer than Direct Transfer.

This method works with any bank account while Direct Transfer on OnlyFans only works with Visa and Visa Debit cards.

Recommendation:

If you have a Visa or Visa Debit card, use Direct Transfer (OCT), otherwise, select International Bank Transfer (SWIFT).

Once you’ve chosen your payout method, fill in the details and click “Save payout details.” That’s it! You just need to set a monthly subscription price and start paying. We’ll cover the next step.

Set your monthly subscription price

With your OnlyFans account approved and your bank details added to your account, you can now set your monthly subscription price.

Click the profile icon in the top right corner, then go to “My Profile” in the side menu, then click on “Edit Profile” on your profile page.

Your subscription price is set to “Free,” and the minimum subscription price you can set is $4.99.

I recommend starting from $9.99 – $14.99 and running promotions for $5.99 – $7.99 if necessary. As time goes on, you can analyze the correlation between your pricing, content and subscribers. You can adjust prices depending on how your account performs.

Generally speaking, you are likely to have more subscribers if your subscription price is lower but don’t be afraid to charge more if you post a lot of content, especially if the content is long and time-consuming.

You want a balance so that the price is accessible for new subscribers, but you’re still making enough money to be worth it. Think about it this way, if you charge $9.99 a month and have 1,000 subscribers, you’ll make $7,992 a month after OnlyFans’ 20 percent fee.

Many high-performing OnlyFans creators have subscription fees priced at $9.99 and lower, so don’t be afraid to start low.
